DIRECTOR, SHANE KNUPPS           

Mr. Shane Knupps began his tenure as Director of the Blue Wave Band in 2009.  Mr. Knupps holds both a BM and MM in Trombone Performance from the University of Missouri - Kansas City Conservatory of Music and Dance.  He received additional instruction at Ouachita Baptist University and Northwestern State University of Louisiana.  Shane is an active performer on trombone and bass trombone in the Springfield area.  He currently performs in the Jazz Educator's Big Band and the Springfield-Drury Civic Orchestra.  He has also been a trombonist at Springfield's Little Theater in productions of The Music Man and The Buddy Holly Story.  Prior to his appointment as Director of Bands at Hillcrest, Mr. Knupps served as Assistant Director of Bands for the Bolivar School District.
